Understanding the Horse’s Story: A Comprehensive Course on Equine Anatomy and Biomechanics
Every horse has a story to tell, and it’s up to you to decipher it. Our course aims to provide therapists, saddle fitters, hoof carers, trainers, and horse enthusiasts with the knowledge and experience necessary to unravel the mysteries of the horse’s anatomy and biomechanics.
By examining what’s beneath the skin, you’ll gain insight into how problems arise and how they can affect the rest of the body. You’ll learn how to prevent and solve these issues, gaining a unique opportunity to experience the effects of different bits on the movement of the hyoid and the hind and front legs. We’ll also demonstrate the impact of the saddle on the range of motion.
Join us for a two-day journey through the horse’s anatomy. The subjects we’ll cover include:
- Fascia
- Muscle layers and their function and connections
- Joints and attachment of muscles
- Tendons and ligaments
- Veins
- Head and all muscles, hyoid and nerves
- Lymph nodes
- Vertebras
- Organs
Becks will guide you through the various layers of the horse’s body. You’ll learn how each component functions separately and how it’s intertwined with the whole body. Not only will you gain insight into the horses life, but you’ll also learn how equine anatomy and biomechanics vary within breeds and even among individuals.
