Description
Equine Biosecurity Best Practice Protocols
Biosecurity is the principles, actions, precautions and protocols that protect the health of horses by preventing the transmission of disease through physical barriers and hygienic practices. It is a strategy of disease prevention and to control the circulation if disease is introduced within a herd or community such as an equestrian centre, livery yard etc.
Infectious disease can travel quickly between groups but successful biosecurity protocols can contain the disease within a group and prevent it from spreading between groups.
The objective of this training is to raise awareness of the importance of biosecurity in the equine setting and help those with an interest in the industry to begin to formulate their own effective Biosecurity Plan applicable to their own premises, business and equestrian activities, based on our Biosecurity Best Practice Protocols..
