This course, designed for equine caregivers and enthusiasts, provides a comprehensive month-by-month guide to ensuring that foals receive the best start possible. From the essential newborn care and early imprinting to advanced groundwork and training preparation, each stage focuses on key aspects of health, socialization, handling, and nutrition.
Through hands-on techniques, veterinary care, and gradual training, participants will learn to nurture a foal’s growth and development, laying the foundation for a healthy, well-adjusted adult horse.

This course is delivered online along with supporting downloadable course materials. It is is broken down into modules which will include online tutorials, a comprehensive manual to download, and video demos. Within each module, you’ll be guided through a variety of slides including informative text, engaging videos, and downloadable materials.

– Implement safe socialisation and environmental exposure techniques to encourage confidence and adaptability.
– Train foals in basic groundwork, including haltering, leading, and standing tied.
– Monitor foal health with regular veterinary and farrier care, addressing common issues like joint health.
– Prepare foals for advanced groundwork, such as lunging, long-lining, and under-saddle preparation.
– Promote physical and mental well-being through structured handling, socialisation, and gradual training.
